Onamalutu, a sentimental journey is a collection of the author's memories of her childhood (1930's and 1940's) in the then isolated Onamalutu Valley on the north bank of the Wairau River, Marlborough, New Zealand. Her memories, supported by many photographs, are entwined amongst the stories of the many families who lived in the valley at the time, before then and since - a precious snapshot in time of a way of life long gone.
